There’s something timelesss about FIBER ART. Embroidery and needlework are art forms that have existed for centuries. In today’s world, technology allows us to transfer great photos into lovely embroidered pictures.
I have always loved needlework. I have designed embroidered pictures since a child, spending countless hours sewing each individual stitch.
Imagine my excitement when technology allowed for using photographs to create embroidered pictures.
While innovation allows for machine embroidery, the art of design, color and form still remains. Photos are cropped and enhanced to create the right image. Colors for the embroidery are individually selected from over 200 thread colors to create the best picture.
On average a 6 X 6 picture takes 3 days to embroider, using 35-40 colors and 130,000 to 150,000 stitches.
